Red Leaf Resources’ (the Company) intellectual property portfolio consists of patent applications pending before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office and various international governing agencies, as well as provisional patent applications filed with the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office in 2009. 

In addition to the Company's pending patents, Red Leaf Resources holds several trademarks, including “EcoShale™”. The Company also retains significant trade secrets and other proprietary information related to the EcoShale™ In-Capsule Technology not included in the patents that the Company considers extremely valuable and protects vigorously. Specifically, the Company works closely with Thorpe North & Western, outside patent counsel. At the request of the Company, Thorpe, North & Western prepared a ‘Freedom to Operate’ opinion, concluding that the EcoShale™ In-Capsule Technology was a) patentable, and b) unlikely to infringe on certain designated patents arguably the most similar to those of the Company.
